At the beginning of the year, there was a gymnastics and dance classes that were offered here at Village Green. The distance and the price are right here, but I told Aimee she could only do one. After attending both she couldn't make up her mind. So we decided to do gymnastics the first semester, and dance the second. Truth be told, she favored dance. The crazy part of that is, she did as much singing in her class as she did dancing (as you might notice from the video)! In fact, while getting ready for their recital her teacher had to try to explain to her that only one of the dances to you make any sounds in, and the others you just smile. Well, it mostly helped, but not until the night of the recital. It was a little surprising watching the recital for a couple of reasons. Firstly she barely sang. And secondly, I had no idea that she knew so much of the dances! She spent most of her time in class being a distraction to the other girls. I have no idea where she gets her...spunk. It was so fun to watch. In fact, after the first dance, Chad leaned over to me and said,"I don't know what we paid for this, but it was worth it!" I couldn't get the videos to load that I took of her up close, but here are the videos her teacher posted of her three dances. Aimee is the second from the right end in the front. Enjoy!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCRoKHXmQb0 -this was the tap routine. Some one lent us some shoes for the recital, and Aimee was a little distracted by them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTeP72oLEoo&feature=related -this was the ballet routine. No, Aimee doesn't have any shoes on, we are too cheap to buy them. She used pretend shoes all year, and was completely satisfied with them! She even brought them to class each week in a pretend bag and would get annoyed when the other kids didn't get that. This was the finally. Aimee's class comes out part way through http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2yHfbPtIXg&feature=related.
